Villa Angela - Taormina

Great friendly service and advice from Katharine & her team from initial booking of our holiday, through to departure. Hotel Villa Angela is in a lovely location, up the hill outside town (not in walking distance) but don't be put off by that as there is easy access by hotel shuttle bus to the central part of town with it's shops & restaurants.Times are arranged beforehand with reception but you can call to change pick up times if you need to. Hotel will also arrange a shuttle for you to the nearby beaches, the minibus will pick you up and bring you back - you pay 10 euros for it but that also includes sunbeds for the day which we thought was good value. We stayed in the Etna Suite which was lovely, well equiped and spacious. Nice pool although we spent most of our time on the beach. Breakfast typically continental but all very fresh. All in all a very chilled out and relaxed place with top class service. My friends & I would all highly recommended it and definitely stay there again.

Only minor things that would have made it absolutely perfect and in no way would prevent me from staying there again. Would have liked tea & coffee making facilities in the room. And a shower room to change in after checkout if there are no spare rooms. The only place to have a wash in is the toilets - they're spacious enough but not quite the same as being able to shower especially after you've spent the day on the beach. Beds are quite firm which will suit many people but a mattress topper would have made it more comfy for me (but that's just personal taste!).

We had a fabulous stay at Hotel villa Angela, The staff are really welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. The Balcony was very spacious. The maids always cleaned the room to a hight standard. The shuttle service was great as it was a long climb back to the hotel.

I just missed not having tea making facilities for in the morning in my room, all though you can order room service, but did not want to bother the staff so early.

Everything was wonderful - the location, staff and rooms were excellent.

Amazing staff, incredible food for breakfast, clean rooms, truly amazing view from the balcony. Everything was more and better then we expected!

I actually liked everything about Villa Angela.

The views were amazing.

No shower facilities when checking out and having to wait before a long flight back to Australia. We could have paid for a room for an additional 50 Euro but wasnt worth it.

The view over the Etna from our room. The atmosphere. The room amenities and comfort. The friendly staff. The shuttle to and from Taormina.

Room cleanliness and assistance from hotel staff are always a priority and this Hotel did well on both accounts. The shuttle bus service was excellent in this rather steep location, the Hotel being in the upper section of Taormina.

There was a bar and it was located on the same floor as the reception desk. It may have been more appropriately located on the same floor as the pool. The reception staff were responsible for serving drinks from the bar so they would have to leave what they were doing to attend to the bar. The housemaids appeared to start to early in the morning and you were left with the impression that you were being hurried out of your room so that they could attend to their duties. The balcony outside the rooms faced Mt Etna and were spacious, however, lattice with some vegetation growing thereon provided the separation between rooms and afforded insufficient privacy.

Only downside was distance from town and sea and the altitude our preference is to walk to restaurants in the evening. However this would not necessarily stop us from returning

This was the most expensive hotel of our Sicilian trip and it did not disappoint. Excellent views from bedroom and public areas. All staff was particularly helpful and friendly. Mini bus shuttle service to town centre is an ``excellent'' idea. Quiet setting considering Taormina is a lively town. Had dinner at the hotel one evening because we found the setting much more romantic than in town. Would recommend it. Wonderful walk to the town centre from the hotel, a must!

The location was fantastic, though being a way uphill the shuttle bus was a necessity. Staff were fabulous; they could not have been more helpful or friendly.

Comfortable traditional hotel with stunning views. Loved the terrace space off the room and enjoyed having the pool to cool off in on a hot day. The staff are very good and make you feel truly welcome and well looked after. Excellent frequent shuttle service into town at minimal cost. Very nice terrace areas for a drink and to enjoy breakfast and lunch. Also a bonus to have onsite parking - a little tight when busy, but that's Italy!

The rooms and bathrooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay but they feel a bit basic in terms of furnishings and fit out. The pillows were the worst I have ever experienced - so bad that we went a purchased our own. The location is high above Taormina old town and we would have preferred to be within walking distance. The hotel does provide a very good shuttle service into town to help with this issue.

The staff made us feel welcome and nothing was too much effort for them. The shuttle bus made getting to the main town easy meaning the location, which gives magnificent views, isn't a drawback.
